The Daisy Chains are six petticoated girls that all sing in beautiful close harmony as well as play drums, guitar, bass, trumpet, tenor and baritone saxophones! Step back in time to the 1950’s as we find out more about this multi talented girl band … will it be west end to award? ….
What periods do you cover in your repertoire?
We play 1950’s classics from the golden era of rock n’ roll as well as bespoke arrangements of modern songs in a 50’s style.
What are your favourite numbers?
We play a ‘Lolipop Medley’ that includes ‘Lolipop Loilipop’, ‘My Boy Lolipop’ and Mika’s ‘Lolipop’ that all ‘mash–up’ together– it’s a lot of fun! We also always enjoy Tutti Fruitti (our bass player Ru particularly, as she walked down the aisle to it!!)
What inspired you to focus on this genre over other styles of music & performance?
We were all heavily influenced by a mutual love of rock n’ roll as most of us have been in the hit west end show ‘Dreamboats and Petticoats’. We are also in love with the gorgeous 1950’s fashions and love the big petticoats, stylish outfits and vintage hair–do’s! We think rock ‘n roll is the best party music to dance to– I challenge anyone to not enjoy it and want to get up and jive!!
What has been the highlight of your career to date?
Winning the 2014 London Vintage Award for best band.
What has been the best event that you have performed at?
We played in front of over 2000 people on the main stage at The Grand National in Aintree. This was in incredible experience!
If you could perform with anyone (past or present) who would it be?
Elvis Presley of course! Swoon…!
A little more about The Daisy Chains….
The Daisy Chains are such an original act it’s difficult to describe until you see them! The feedback we get is incredible and we are yet to play a gig where the audience aren’t on their feet enjoying our music!
